Not just you. This time travel thing has my head spinning.
Here's how I think it could have gone down. Liddy refused the Deal. YED killed her. Mary went to the funeral with John and met old Yellow Eyes there cuz he was still in the doctor. Then he stalked her til he had opening and used it. No. Dean. Necessary. Well, in an imperfect Supernatural world anyway.
But how much do I love that MARY was the first in the family to make a deal for the life of a loved one?!?!! Far too much than is healthy.
