The guy who was with her, the one who kept insisting that he wasn't really a cop, wouldn't listen to Sam when he told him they didn't have anything to do with the body, that they were just trying to figure out where they were and Sam literally stumbled across it in the alley.
It wasn't until he ended up in an interrogation room with the not-cop - and without Dean or pretty cop - sitting across the table from him that Sam realised exactly what kind of trouble they were in

I reeeeaaally like what Beckett has either been told or assumes about the Winchesters as a cult. Also, Castle being good-hearted, and snappy dialog make this <3.
