the main bead is a hand-made by a glass worker.  The little purple beads are slightly irridescent, but simple druks.  I fashioned the ear wire from the silver/copper wire (sometimes called German silver).  and I used silver beads on either end of the focal that have squared surfaces, just for contrast.

Both actually could never make any I liked and I rarely ware them anymore unless I am dressing up

I am so not surprised. it's even more mesmorizing in person. that's one reason I didn't want to do much to embellish, as I wanted it to be the focus of attention.

I remember going into a shop that had art glass and russian glass beads I so kick myself for not buying some but budget was pretty tight right then. The first bead is very bootiefull*giggles*

the ear wire variations seem to be quite the thing. I've seen some wild ones on Etsy. I've looked at a bunch, but I don't necessarily want to copy anyone, just be inspired by them.
