It would seem to be very hard to surprise someone you have a telepathic connection with, but it was managed - Alta was completely not expecting to be kissed like that.
He had had enough of the purple snake-woman's posturing and, teeth bared, leapt up to coil himself around her human torso, squeezing like the constrictor that he was. Although this had seemed at the time to be her weak spot, it seemed by the way she looked at him as he did this that he had overestimated how weak it actually was. Oh, my. This would not end well for Li the Naga.
(Okay, that last one is a lot more than one sentence. Sue me.)
This is more like an essay than a short fic.clever__foolMarch 18 2007, 17:40:24 UTC
A large part of Alis's fascination with humans is the fact that he doesn't quite understand them. Humans have that quintessential something that makes them 'civilized' and 'sophisticated' - something that Alis can never hope to be even if he is as smart as they are. So, with that in mind, it's pretty amazing that a couple of sophisticated and civilized beings such as Pyra and Quinn would let him into their home and treat him as kinda (sorta?) an equal. He does not attribute their kindness to any sort of cuteness or percieved worthiness on his part, instead believing that people in general are kind to him because they just want to be. Therefore, Quinn and Pyra are obviously goddesses of altruism and coolness.
... And also sexiness, but that's a whole other thing.
Despite appearances, the bandages were not hard to remove. Amazingly, though, neither party thought to use them to tie the other up.
Neither of them had a particular interest in gardening, to tell you the truth. Isley probably didn't see the point, but Li secretly wondered if little Isleys would grow.
It took her forever to talk - Pyra was starting to get worried that there was something wrong with her. When she finally did, she was standing near a stream and looking at a bug. Finally she uttered, "Damselfly."
I work at Wal-Mart. BUT! I am used to being a corporate slave and this is actually the least-sucky job I've ever had. So far. I work in apparel, at the slowest (out of two) store in a small town, so I really don't have to deal with too many annoying customers. Or too many customers in general. I just have no time for anything is all. :3 HOW HAVE YOU BEEN?
Afterwards, Li lay curled up against Isamu, warm for a few moments that seemed to go on forever. Isamu thought that he was just being sentimental, but actually Li was waiting for him to fall asleep so that he could steal his clothes.
Really? you like it! Then I'm glad you got it :D Slowness can be good, for sure.
I'm coo'! Nothing majorly different has happened with me, really. My job is good, my brother's having another baby, but things with moiself are pretty stable.
They met halfway - Li had turned himself into a girl and agreed to act as feminine as possible, and Rylie had put her heterophobia aside temporarily. Although this had all seemed just fine at the time, they both had a bad taste in their mouth the morning after - some issue neither of them could quite put her finger on.
