Let the rape of the credit card begin!

Since I haven't started a costume in, er, two years(ish) I decided that I was going to go all out on the Swan. Bit late on the input here, but have you tried padding your dummy to fit a specific measurement? I find it works far better than the duct tape. I simply tear strips of cheap fabric, usually oops fabrics you can occasionally get for cheap, and wrap until the numbers are right. This gives a forgiving surface like the natural body, and a surface you can also pin into, unlike the tape.

Actually, she's too large by about 4 sizes. She isn't soft, since she's a store mannequin, so I can't squish her down to my size. I have to leave all my costumes open up the back when I photograph them on the form. Then I usually have to pin them all over to make them fit. I know I should just invest in a decent one.

OR look for an inflatable mannequin that can be wrapped the same way. It's slightly off anatomically in the shoulders, but that's easily fixed when you're doing it for yourself. The ebay store I bought mine from isn't operating anymore, but searching that should do it. I think I got a male form, a female form, and a stand for $30. WELL worth th emoney.
