That is precious. Sam always looks like he's smiling. Is that really your lap though? Or sofa/towel/blanket/chair?

Heh, no. that's just the towel on the couch. "Petite Lap Bear" evolved from petitelapgiraffe.com.

Wow, a lot of casting for The Hunger Games. I'm going to have a really tough time with the movie, because I've listened to the audio books twice, and so I have the narrator's voices in my head. And, the voices don't match the appearances of the people I've seen so far.

Prim is probably my favorite voice, followed by Haymitch. I love it when she does Prim's voice. "Oh! I never had a whole let yo myself before." Her voice makes that one of my favorite lines.

I also like that she sings. In the first book, her singing make me cry, and in the third, I really liked the Hanging Tree. I just wish she'd sang the song at the very end, the one out of the epilogue. I'd liked to have heard it again.

My best friend and I had such perfect dream-casting going for Hunger Games and now it's all falling apart. Why don't filmmakers listen to our opinions (you know, the opinions of college students)

I've liked Rue, Thresh and Effie so far. I like Jennifer Lawrence in general; I'm waiting to see what she looks like in costume, since I'm pretty sure she's not a natural blonde. (Of course, I had been rooting for Hailee Steinfeld, but what're you gonna do; they don't listen to bloggers, either.) I suspect that Cinna, Haymitch, and--later--Finnick are the characters that'll really make or break it for me at this point.

Yeah, I really like Rue and Thresh. I haven't seen Jennifer Lawrence in anything yet, although she's obviously very talented. (Hailee Steinfeld had been my pick too. It seemed almost like fate that she got big right when they started casting for this)

I had gone onto this weird casting binge where my bff and I were like "If they get Kristin Chennoweth for Effie, then they could get Lee Pace for Cinna! WE COULD EMPLOY EVERYONE ON PUSHING DAISIES SOMEHOW!" which is why I was hoping for KC. I actually really love Elizabeth Banks, but I keep thinking of her 30 Rock performance (which I also love) and I'm afraid she won't be as relentlessly cheerful as the part calls for.

But yeah, I think the Haymitch and Cinna casting will be what determine my excitement in the movie.

Yeah, I know a lot of people wanted Kristin Chenoweth--I think she was kind of the Platonic ideal. I really can't imagine anyone for Cinna, though, which is why I'm so interested to see where they go with it.
