Internets, there was a lot of jackassery today. It's kind of impressive.

The Wicked Pretty Things imbroglio: Jessica Verday explained that she was pulling out of the YA anthology because she was asked to make a story with a male/male romance into a male/female romance. No problem with the actual content, violence or language; just make one of the ( Read more... )

Heh, no kidding.

I'm really, really curious to see how this plays out. Because it's not like anyone's going to agree to replace y'all, and even if they're just like, "Well, we lost four stories, we'll just... get by... somehow," it's still going to be known as The Anthology That Doesn't Believe Gay Kids Exist. It's going to be known that way by people who never would have heard of it otherwise! There's only two things I can think they can do at this point, and I'm curious to see which one it'll be.

Well, those were two separate things. The "candy for dinner" bit was Scott Adams talking about why you shouldn't argue with women who want rights. It's actually a lot worse.

Well, I mean, women. It's as useless debating with us as it would be to actually talk to a toddler or one of those ewwww, mentally handicapped people. So very silly that any of them think they're *people*, right??

((I now feel ill from typing that))

If he'd just stuck to "women are like children," that would have been bad enough, but then it went to this completely different place that was, like, 3-D douchery.

This is the first I've read of this, but Running Press and the name Trisha Telep seem familiar to me. Have they been up to other inappropriate shenanigans before?

She edited a Cassie Clare short story...but she edited a lot of people's short stories so we can't hold it against her. ;-)
