LET THE RENDING OF GARMENTS BEGIN

In case you missed it: The Secret Life of Dolls (the Dire Capybara seems to have been a big hit).

I'm still mulling over That Which We Do Not Speak Of, which we might as well Speak Of because we all know I'm doing it. There's basically two movie franchises that I'm locked into until the bitter end, and Harry Potter is one of them. The problem is ( Read more... )

harry potter, spider-man, made of fail, tv, the great gatsby, disney, twilight, movies, the happening, x-men, lost, batman, superman, this is going to end well, podcast, vampires, we do not speak of it

This Buffy movie thing does not bode well. The original Buffy movie wasn't that great--it was only the series that really got things going.

If it's Joss you want, just rewatch any two of his series. That should cover his entire repertoire; after that, redundancy sets in.

It's too bad you've already used the Viking saga schtick, because that could be a good treatment for HP.

That's my problem with it. Like, even with Joss not involved, they could still do something awesome, and it's just common sense that it's going to be a huge flop because they're not going to. A buffy movie, I would totally go see over and over, and buy merch for. Even one based on the original, as kitchy as that thing was. But it's barely been any time, the fans can clearly still remember the show...idk, nothing they do can compare.

I'll hop in line behind you.

Seriously, I'm so sick of remakes of stuff I loved from my childhood but Buffy isn't even that old. And without Joss on board? What's even the point?

Why not make some new Vampire Slayer -Insert Name Here- instead of "rebooting" Buffy? Ugh.

I have been filled with ragewoe over that Buffy thing all damn day. I am too exhausted to reiterate my anguish so I will just c&p my comment from elsewhere on the internets:

Okay. Here is what I find irritating about this. We have a new film in which no one associated with the original series is involved. I feel it is reasonably safe to say it will be rubbish, and that people will say so, loudly and repeatedly. And then we will be left with an entire generation of people seeing Buffy for the first time and somehow thinking that it is actually worse than Twilight, and what is left of my soul will die that much more.

eta: 'Lost' Creater Disappointed with 'Harry Potter'

Yeah, fuck him. He's a Polanski apologist and now that Lost is over I don't have to pretend not to think he's a douchebag anymore for the sake of my sanity and a beloved series.

I actually liked the Lost finale a lot.

well by the same token Mr. Lindelof i don't feel like a lesser Harry potter fan for completely disagreeing with you.

although to his credit, at least he said He was disappointed and didn't went "drama queen- I Hated the movie it was so bad"

i might forgive you a little for acknowledging the beauty of the three hallows

I remove half of those points for being thick headed enough to even Think there was a triangle between harry/Hermione/Ron

i mean you said to have read the books right?

there wasn't a love triangle in the books Mr. lindelof!
