So today was my grandmother's 86th birthday, and while we're having a family thing for her on Sunday, my mother, Sister Girl and I went over to have lunch with her today, just because. ( Speaking of my sister--oh, who had the link to this? The Pattinson Doppelgänger has apparently since been sighted in Texas.) On the way over (my mother was in a ( Read more... )

blahhhh I can't joke with my sister like this. She would find some way to think it was a personal jab towards her. I have a really good friend out in California that pretty much qualified as my sister. I miss her so much x.x

A lot of metal bands are hilariously geeky. All of Magma's songs are written in a made-up language and deal with an interplanetary war. And it still saddens me that I don't like Atreyu. Too much screamgrowl in the vocals, despite the deeply awesome name.

i too love Atreyu's name, but often find that a lot of their songs have too much growl-scream for me. my boyfriend really likes them, which just becomes more weird because of the musical tastes we both harbor. some of my fav bands are KoRn, Slipknot, and Deftones, while his are Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, and Shinedown.

for non-screamy Atreyu he recommends:
Falling Down, Becoming the Bull, Lose It, No One Cares, Slow Burn (one of his personal favs), and Lead Sails (and a Paper Anchor)
(all off of Lead Sails, Paper Anchor)

he hasn't heard their newest album, but their newest single isn't bad. it's called Storm to Pass, which has some really awesome lyrics, as well as a badass music video. people controlling the elements, ftw.

This made me :D so hard. Sisters can be awesome sometimes. Mine frequently texts me early (she's an elementary school teacher so she is up way before my college-student butt) and when I get all angry face at the text I usually read it and it says something like "Hi Pookie! Let's go to Hawaii! La la la!"

...anywho. Thanks for sharing the lols!

Subdural haematoma always wins. Eff rock, paper, scissors. It's subdural haematoma, Spanish flu, or metastasized cancers.
