Halp!

Okay, problem: I am trying to move music from my computer to the iPhone (and vice versa, now that I think about it), and I'm not finding a way to do so without just doing a blanket sync. The problem with this is that I have music on the phone that I don't want to get wiped and would, in fact, like to transfer to the computer, but I also have music ( Read more... )

music, iphone, questions, my life is so hard omg

i used a program called senuti, itunes backwards, for a normal ipod. checks your ipod music against your computer and lets you add all the non-duplicates. or duplicates if you want them.

Sadly, last I knew, senuti was Mac-only. I have lots of recs if Cleo were using OSX.

(Love the icon.)

Senuti is Mac-only. I've heard pretty good things about Pod to PC (there are reviews of it here), which is supposed to do the same thing.

Cleo--good luck! It was a damn nusiance getting music off my iPod and onto my new laptop after my old laptop died.

I think I love you.

I'm a recent convert from PC to Mac and LOVE the Mac so much better.

But I've never tried this multi-function/multi-technogizmo thing...so I'm as clueless as you, Cleo.

I'm sorry. Perhaps Google it and look at the different results that come up?

Good luck!

Mac > PC. I love my Addy soooo much. :D But since cleo has an iPhone, and I'm just a mega-Ipod [120 KB. and yes, i DO need all of that space, tyvm] user, I'm bloody confused too.

You can "authorize" more than one computer to play DRM files from the iTunes store; you can make the change in your iTunes account settings. Though, I'm not sure that's exactly what's causing the problem.....

Yeah, me neither, but properly authorizing Lizzie would be a good first step, I think.

Stupid DRM.

Not true. I managed to authorize two computers to use my iTunes account. :)

According to iTunes, you're supposed to be able to authorise up to 5 computers...

Cleo, try this:

In iTunes, under the Store menu, look for Deauthorize Computer. You should be able to use that selection, along with Authorize Computer (found just above it) to tell iTunes that Betsy is No Longer With Us and to authorize Lizzie as your One True iTunes Love.

Try that and see if your options make more sense afterward.

This.

Also, you should be able to sync individual songs (according to vwlphb) by just dragging the .mp3 file to the iTunes icon while your phone is plugged in. I've never tried doing it that way, though.

I do this all the time with my iPod (which I also use as a memory stick, because it works, and doesn't "lock" itself, like other mem. sticks I've had). It's really easy. :)

Freakin' Apple hides the DRM-locked .mp3 files. >:( So frustrating.

You will need software in order to copy from the iPhone to the computer, unfortunately. I use a Mac but I know on Windows my friends have used SharePod. It's free and lets you import stuff directly into iTunes.

If you haven't already found a solution yet, Cleo, I also used Sharepod to do the exact same thing with a family member's ipod touch and was successful in transferring everything, including videos using Sharepod. (freeeee) Good luck!
