Settling in

So I'm still getting used to the keyboard (you know how laptop keyboards are more compact) and the touchpad mouse, since I haven't installed my wireless ones yet (for some reason, I never seem to hit the M key on this one hard enough), but: LIFE IS AWESOME. Also, I get to stay logged into everything (I cannot even tell you how happy this makes me ( Read more... )

Well, judging by the wigs in these movies, I'm pretty sure the second one by process of elimination ain't "good."

Oh, they filmed these two back-to-back over the summer and fall. Blessedly, they're not filming Breaking Dawn until fall 2010, although New Moon does have a hypothetical flashforward to it.

Awesome. Glad to hear it.
Hope you get through the worst of the cold soon and can start on the downslope of clearing.
It's good that you recognize that the difficulty is not that You Suck, but that your past successes and accomplishments (and you have had many) have raised the bar.

Well, I suppose, but imagine the lulz of her throwing trees around and stuff? Or almost cutting Jacob for the whole imprinting on her mutant lovechild fiasco? Or Renesmee herself (oh lord).

Probably because writing these for five years with a determined focus on getting better at it has... well, in fact, gotten me better at it.

I wholeheartedly approve of your growing self-confidence. *sincere applause*

Besides: That gives me hope that in a couple of years I'll have built up some mad webcomic-making skills. *wry grin*

Well, I don't know that it's so much self-confidence as self-awareness. Annotating the three Harry Potter parodies was a huge eye-opener--I know people have a lot of affection for the POA one, but my God, I wanted to take a red pen to it. I could easily shave a thousand words off it today. I mean, you could actually see a progression in writing quality over the three pieces, even if people like the first one the most. It was kind of painful to go back and see, actually.

I'd go so far as to say it's a form of self-confidence: You're willing and able to see the improvement later on, rather than getting mired down in how much you want to redact the hell out of POA.

Whatever you want to call it, I'm calling it a healthy thing.

Besides: We all know that what the fans pick out as their favorites and what you think are your best efforts will rarely coincide...

See, that's why I can't see it with y'all. It's srs bsns with me because of the Fifteen Minutes thing. Like I took NOTES on this one and shit. I mean, not many, but still.

Same problem with me and Le Boyfriend. It's either that or we'll get ourselves killed by a mob of angry Twihards (Le Boyfriend favors the latter probability-wise).
