Not doing too much today, even by our standards. My stepfather's out drumming at the American Village in his Revolutionary soldier coat; Sister Girl and her boyfriend came over for lunch. Mom used her new ice cream maker to whip up a pretty simple vanilla, which we then put homemade hot fudge sauce and fresh strawberries on (kind of like a ( Read more... )

It's so cool that your mom liked Star Trek. I couldn't get my mom and sister to watch it if it was the only movie left on earth.

My parent's aren't gamblers, but on a recent trip for their anniversary, they play a little slots ($10/each) and won like... $250. What was their idea of a perfect way to spend the money? They spent some on a little hall table at an antique shop, and the rest was spent on movie tickets to take myself, my husband, my sister, her boyfriend, the two of them, and our godfather out to see Star Trek together last night. FUN times, also- 2nd time we'd seen it, but we'd all seen it with different people. My family just does cool stuff like that, well cool, NERDY stuff...

One of my comfort-food-reads is Practice to Deceive by Patricia Veryan. She writes Regency romances, but they're not all bodice-ripping although there is some of that, too.

And also seeing the corner of your printer makes me feel infinitely better about mine. My printer is more of a trash catch-all than a printer. (sigh)

Once again, Mama Cleo proves her awesomeness.

That chocolate-dipped strawberries sundae thing sounds so good. I want!

I saw Angels & Demons yesterday, and it was alright. What made it totally worthwhile? The trailer for Public Enemies. OMG I ABOUT DIED. JOHNNY DEPP. And Christian Bale. BUT JOHNNY DEPP. I just wanted them to show preview over and over again.

Hey, we got the Public Enemies preview before A&D too. That was neat--it actually made me want to see the film (and not just the hot actors), which is something previews haven't made me feel much, recently.

Same here, though the preview for Terminator made me want to see it. Which I haven't yet.

Good call on not seeing Wolverine or Terminator. We went to Terminator yesterday and my guys immediately went home and put on Terminator 2 to 'wash the taste out of their mouths'. Still, I enjoyed staring at Sam Worthington for a couple of hours...

Oh, and this is belated, but here's a shout out to you!
