I had dinner and then took a hot shower and that was apparently a baaaad idea because I'm about to fall asleep right here at my desk. So, before I pass out:

ipomoea spotted a few original Movies in Fifteen Minutes hardbacks for sale in Austin!

SO EXCITED!! unicornluvr April 7 2009, 02:04:56 UTC
I just went and bought one of the copies! Along with, uh, three time-traveling Viking romance novels.

Anything to help with the Thesis-pain, really.

Thanks for writing this fabulous book that I look forward to reading, Ms. Jones!

1) Time-traveling Vikings for the win.
2) I hear you on the Thesis-pain. My discussion section? Needs to be completely rewritten in the next 10 hours.
3) The book's really good. Enjoy!

Ouch, good luck with #2 there. My adviser is so slow that I haven't even gotten her to sign off on the documents for my IRB that she's had since before Spring Break- nearly a month now- and I can't start my fieldwork until that's approved.

So I've just been re-writing my lit review. Every day.

Aaah, that's so frustrating. My friend's adviser is like that. Hopefully she'll get back to you soon...? In the meantime, I'm sure the lit review's great. Take some time off. :)

Have you discovered www.phdcomics.com yet? They have a great grad student forum as well. Excellent for procrastination.

So this came up in my RSS feed, and the moment I scrolled to it my boyfriend walked by, saw what was on my screen, and said "I JUST SNAPPED SOMETHING IN MY ASS."

(Sadly, I can't find the appropriate scene on YT, but you probably know what I'm talking about.)

TRUFAX: I cannot see in 3-D. I'm blind in one eye. Every time a 3-D movie comes out, I always feel ripped off and wish monsters were coming out of the screen at me too. :(

FAQ #2: That is not Cloud Of Darkness' nipple in my icon.

I have an astigmatism and can't see 3-D either. Or those Magic Eye pictures. I felt so left out in the nineties :(

I "saw" those pictures exactly twice in my entire life. The rest of the time I was like the guy in Mallrats who spends the entire movie trying to see the boat that everyone else sees right away.

Of course, that may be because I have a touch of red/green colorblindness.

I could never do those Magic Eye things, either, and I'm just nearsighted.

There were about six or seven copies of your book in hardcover at the Half Price Books in Lexington. :D

I don't know where they came from, but I triple-taked when I saw them on the shelf!
