Coraline!

Aw, Coraline was so fun and scary and gorgeous. (You know the monster in The Nightmare Before Christmas? What's his name, Boogie something? Yeah. On that level, but with more screentime. AHHHH.) And we even ended up seeing it in 3D, which I really recommend--if nothing else, the landscapes have this spectacular depth to them. Of course, even if you ( Read more... )

I went to see Coraline today and it was a gorgeous film, and seriously creepy (especially towards the end with the Other Father - I think that freaked me out the most). Did you by any chance stay until after the credits? There was a fun bonus after the end, and what I believe to be another password for the website.

Before Coraline I went to NYCC and of course I had to find the Tonner booth and lo and behold:

Hee! I love how everyone's taken pictures of the Dollens for me.

And is that what "jerk wad" was supposed to be, a password? That drove me nuts.

But of course~

It was interesting seeing all the Tonner dolls in person - the photos from their site are lovely, but at the booth I was able to get a very close look at them and appreciate the finer details. (For some reason I really love the tiny shoe laces.) They really are beautiful dolls, I don't even care if the faces are hit-and-miss. I just wish they weren't so expensive.

YEAH!! If you go on the Coraline website, go to "Coraline's Room" and click on the treasure chest - you can then enter the password and sign up for a chance to win a pair of those Coraline Nike's. :D

SHOES!

And see, that's the thing about the Tonners--even if the faces are sketchy, the overall quality is fantastic.

AWESOME shoes! Seriously I would be wearing those every day, I have such a thing for brown/tan shoes.

Yeah, I was very impressed! It's hard to appreciate such detail from the photos on the site. In the end the only thing I got was a free Tonner bag to carry all my stuff in, but it was a very nice bag (one of the biggest ones, which was quite helpful).
