Yeah. Guess why I'm up this early. Guess.

So. I was up last night with an upset stomach, unable to sleep, so I noodled around on the "here's 100 things, bold what you've done" meme, and... let me tell you, this is the most random meme ever. It's like, have you ever twiddled your thumbs? HOW ABOUT IN THE TAJ MAHAL? So random. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to what's listed and ( Read more... )

Snarking at memes shouldn't be as fun as it is. I almost wonder if it's programmed into humanity - see a meme, snark at it. If it isn't some inherent characteristic of life, it should be.

Hee! But only if you had to turn around to see it, bright eyes. Hope your stomach gets better!

A Discworld fan! ♥♥♥ I made it, actually :D It's from The Hogfather, and I did a bunch of icons here back when they released the Hogfather movie on SkyOne. Also have some icons from Going Postal and Making Money on that same icon journal.

WHAT IS WITH THIS LIST AND PARIS, SERIOUSLY

I actually rather ask myself, what is with this list, the world, the Eiffel Tower and the Mona Lisa. Because honestly, there are cooler things in Paris than these two and I don't really understand everyone's infatuation with them. Sure, the Mona Lisa is nice, but there are a gazillion paintings at the Louvre that are equally if not more amazing.

Paris is a wonderful city. I was never really excited about it before, but the moment I was there I fell in love with it. (However, if someone gave me money, I'd revisit Rome or go to St Petersburg/Bejing/Athens/Cairo.) But you can see a lot more there than just the Eiffel Tower and the Mona Lisa, that's why I don't understand the focus on them. It's kind of interesting that there are always one or two things to which a city/country is reduced, although there is not necessarily a reason why they stand out that much.

(I live two hours away from Munich and haven't been to the Oktoberfest once in my entire life. I prefer a nice old inn to drink my German beer in. :D Also, I haven't been to Neuschwanstein and don't plan to.)

I was in Paris when I was twelve. I wasn't terribly impressed. And yes, I went to the top of the Eiffel Tower (took pictures to show my sister, who hates heights, bwaahaahaa) and went to see the Mona Lisa (which is small and behind highly reflective glass and surrounded by tall, snotty people who Do Not Move).

Huh, I didn't know about the not wanting blood because of antidepressants thing. Here in Canada they don't want my blood because it might be tainted with Mad Cow. Moo.

Reading books in one day is the only way to go. I feel like a failure if I can't do it, even when they are long, long academic texts. *stares at From the Enemy's Point of View*

I've never been asked about antidepressants. I've gotten denied for low iron levels kthx going beef and pork free for 5 years. I was Cullen family pale, but no sparkles.

I think it would be very hilarious if us Cullen family pale people were to organize a world-wide sparkle day in which we all wore glittery body lotion or something and waltzed out in the sun and thus gave all the teeny fanteens heart attacks.

Yeah, me either. Although to be fair, I've not yet had a job where I couldn't just say "I have a thing next Thursday, is that ok?" and they said yes.

That list is ... incredibly random. And written by an American. And damn near guaranteed to make anyone feel inadequate, especially someone who is not American (hi!) and unlikely to have a headstart on many items.

But never mind that. PONIES! I have all my MLPs still. And I am keeping them, dammit. And I usually read a book all in one day. Otherwise I wind up dreaming about possible endings. It's rarely restful.

Feel better soon!

P.S. I played 'Horrify the Twilight Noob' for the first time today. It was great.

I still have my ponies! Heck, I've got the one in your icon!

I shouldn't know this, but that icon bit is from some straight to video MLP movie, isn't it? I remember having it, and I can't remember what it was called, but it involved an evil-centaur villain that for some reason needed to kidnap ponies to pull his hell-chariot.

God, I'm crazy.

It actually ran on television: I know this because I still have the videotape I taped it on somewhere. It's right before my parents' taping of Gandhi from HBO.

The big evil centaur needs to kidnap ponies and turn them into dragons (with the power of DARKNESS) so Firefly goes to Earth and picks up Megan because she has opposable thumbs or something. Megan comes back and bands with the ponies, then they go off to see this weird little mushroom guy named something like "Moochick" who gives them a locket with the Rainbow of Light. After that, they go to the castle of the big evil centaur for the final showdown, although they manage to fall into a river along the way, allowing the show to also plug the Sea Ponies, who are in said river, and thus technically Freshwater Ponies, but whatever.

YOU'RE crazy? :)
