So my mother wised up and went to MedHelp first thing this morning to have her foot checked out; they ran whatever scans it is they run, and apparently she really did just pull a ligament pretty badly, but no broken bones. So she's got that going for her. She'd stay home (okay, no, she totally wouldn't), but she's got a bunch of meetings today, and ( Read more... )

Also, Dr. University Poobah sounds like a very uncomfortable person to be around.

I don't know her, but apparently she's mostly pretty cool. And working at a university, she may have had cause to lay down the law re: business attire.

Oh man that was truly the Prom Outfit of Fug, but I am severely prejudiced against footless tights/leggings. IT IS NOT THAT HARD TO WEAR PANTS, PEOPLE. THESE THINGS DO NOT GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO WEAR SKIRTS THAT STOPPED FITTING YOU WHEN YOU WERE EIGHT AND NOW COVER ONLY HALF OF YOUR ASS. *ahem*

Anyway, I groaned when I saw this ensemble ruining Bella's French couture dress or whatever (you know Alice cringed when Bella added those tights).

And then I thought, you know, Bella would. And then I reached for my Dos Equis- thank the lords for Alamo Drafthouse.

And the worst part is, you know Alice psychically saw Bella wearing those leggings the moment she handed over the dress.

This is probably why Alice doesn't let Bella dress herself any more. At least, not for these important occasions.

Subconsciously people are unwillingly turning into Bella Swan.
I'm glad your mother is up and about even if she is wearing one heel.
I'm still LOL over, I didn't fall over, I fell down!!
Question, does your mother know she's the star of your blog today?

I don't know that she specifically knows about today, but a lot of times she'll ask if I've told this or that story yet. Like, she'll tell me things specifically to repeat to y'all.

I want to walk in front of your mom and hold doors open for her all week. It would be a privilege.

Welll, until she whacked me upside the head for calling her "Bella", anyway.

That was fantastic. You and your mom should be a comedy duo or something.

And as weird as it is, after I sprained my ankle the first time, I had to wear heels a few days later, and it actually felt better than when I was wearing flats, I think because of the angle at which it held my foot. But the day after? Your mother must have quite a masochistic streak.
