Sexy Spongebob Squarepants? Seriously? If that doesn't mark the increasing decline of western society, I don't know what does.

And I have to admit, my inner 6th-grader squeed when I read about the Ace of Base comeback. That was the first cd I ever bought. Ah, memories.

Farewell, Samantha Parkington! OKAY THAT IS JUST BULLSHIT.

HELLS TO THE NO. That is UNACCEPTABLE.

I freaked the hell out and called my sister in LA to bitch. (I have Samantha, she has Kirsten.)

hehe I'll prolly see that Ben Stiller movie just for Elton John music now. Loooove him. Saw him in concert last April, it was awesome.

Also, just wondering if you could mention this, Cleo, in case there's some that's interested but doesn't know: Discovery Channel is doing a series on the Iditarod, starting tonight at 10:00 p.m.--there'll be reruns for those who miss it. Find out more here: http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/iditarod/iditarod.html

I'm watching it now, and it's really, really cool.

You're quite welcome. I figured mentioning it would be a good idea.

I don't buy it. Samantha is still one of the more popular ones--if they were going to retire one of the original ones, I think it'd have to be Kirsten.

They did "retire" Felicity a few years ago, then brought her back a couple years later, I think when she had the movie and then they introduced the doll of her friend Elizabeth.

If they need more room, they could get rid of all the extra Kit stuff they introduced this summer. No doll needs a treehouse.

Maybe they are doing a Disney Vault thing.

But they already GAVE Samantha a best friend doll (which I don't have and must now immediately buy...) so... I dunno. *sobs*

Maybe they're going to introduce grown-up dolls and make one of her Aunt Cornelia.

(I mean, of the adults in Samantha's books, the suffragist aunt is definitely the coolest.)

I dunno, discontinuing one of the more popular dolls just makes no sense whatsoever, unless the economy's affected their sales that badly that they figured the rush on Samantha dolls will keep last quarter sales figures up.

I am slowly converting the people around me to The Dark Side, The Way of Lulz, so that someone will take me to see this movie next month.

I have been trying to do the same, because after all of this build-up, I *have* to go see it. Although it might be best if I waited til it was on dvd, so the fangirls in the theater don't hurt me.

I hope Pete's ok.

Also, seconding the 'this is bullshit' about retiring Samantha.
