In which I am sick and puffy and tired

I got mistaken for "nineteen or twenty" yesterday. I turn thirty in December. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. You probably want to slap me right now, but--if you're always being mistaken for being a lot younger, it's like you never really feel like you've grown up ( Read more... )

I know what you mean-- up until recently I got carded every time I went to by liquor. A few months ago people mostly stopped. I'm 37... sometimes you just want to go get your booze and be done with it. :-)

If that's you in your icon, I would've pegged you to be about my age (23).

I am so ready for 'The Road' Oscar gold. I totally loved the book (it was bleak and depressing and hardcore but wow) and I'm ready to see Viggo win an Oscar.

I know the feeling. My whole life, I've been called young and baby-faced. I turned 30 in June. I get ID'd for cigarettes, clubs, alcohol... you name it all the time. My friends always tell me to take the compliment, but *they* haven't been fishing their ID out of their wallet for the last 12 years straight. Not once or twice.

Every. Single. Time.

So yes, I feel your pain.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. I often get mistaken for being at least ten years younger than I am (I'm in my late 30s) and recently someone carded me. When I showed him my DL he actually thought it was fake until I showed him another ID - he said he thought I was 20! O__o I used to be carded all the time but that was the first time it had happened in about four or five years.

I certainly don't think I look that young and it was nice to hear (it always is) but ... I always feel weird about it at the same time. (And constantly reminded that I'm nowhere near where I thought I would be at this age ( ... )
