Sunday night, trying to gear back up into Black Ribbon

Aug 26, 2007 17:57

So I did watch all of Infamous last night, and I scribbled down the Harper Lee bit that I liked:
I read an interview with Frank Sinatra, in which he said about Judy Garland, 'Every time she sings, she dies a little. That's how much she gave.' It's true for writers, too, who hope to create something lasting. They die a little getting it right. And ( Read more... )

Wow, that Shyamalan movie sounds totally creepy. And now kinda pointless, seeing as I read the spoiler.

EEEEEEE DARK KNIGHT.

I'm amused that they've replaced Katie Holmes with Maggie Gyllenhall! At first I was just thinking "Yay, I like Maggie!", but then I thought the name Rachel Dawes looked just a little too familiar. I checked back, and yep, it's definitely the same character.

Haha... but really, great catch. Maggie Gyllenhall is SUUUUCH a better actress. I'm excited!

Huh. I think I've actually heard about that Shyamalan movie before. As in, many months ago. Strange.

The lyrics for the HP musical they give ("Hermione...", etc...) I can't help hearing to the tune of "New Orleans" from when Simpsons did "Streetcar!".

All the brothers have their numbers worked into their costumes in awesome ways; they've all got it in the fabric somehow, plus other details (like the "7" buttons).

Here's Septimus' costume with "VII" all over his tunic, for example, and his buckle, and Primus' belt.

If you search Ebay for "Stardust costume" or "Stardust prop," they're selling a lot of the hero and stunt versions. Check completed listings too, cause a bunch of them have ended.

Oh, that's fantastic. I hate that you can't even see those details--I mean, I love it when costume departments do that, when they put in all these wonderful little details that no one but the actors see, but at the same time, I hate that so much of it is lost on the viewer.

I hear you. I'm always excited when DVDs have costume documentaries, because I want to see more! FIDM in Los Angeles always does a movie costume exhibit around Oscar time-- all the costume design-nominated movies have several costumes there, and then they usually have one or two from other movies that have come out in the past year. They do a TV one at Emmy time, too; that one's up right now. Fingers crossed for having some good Stardust costumes in the 2008 exhibit!

Yeah, I always drool over the FIDM display pics when they come out. So pretty!
