So it's probably not good that I'm sleepy

Today is kind of a Cinderella day, and I think it's going to be a Cinderella weekend--it's my mother's birthday on Sunday, so there's a lot of cleaning to do (in part because family's coming over, but a lot of the cleaning is upstairs, just because I think that would make her happy). I've got wood floors to shine, tile floors to mop, laundry to ( Read more... )

The best part of that story about the drivers stuck on the Pennsylvania highway is the guy who says at the end, "How could you operate a state like this? It's totally disgusting."

Aw, look, it's baby's first run-in with PennDOT! *pinches his cheek* He expects PennDOT to plow? Aw, that's sweet. Dim, but sweet.

Srsly. I'm in West Philly, and when I walked out after the storm, none of the streets were plowed. And this is right on Penn's campus.

I'm up in the mountains outside Scranton, and ... I mean, seriously, forget it. I haven't left my house in two days, and I live on Main Street.

I had to leave my night job early on Wednesday night just to make sure I wasn't stranded at somebody else's house for three days or whatever. Driving home on I-81 was an experience. *eye roll*

There is the joke that you know that you're from Pennsylvania when you think the roads everywhere else are great!

It's funny because it's true.

Maybe the Katie Holmes character will be the REAL Two Face.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a (low-budget) sequel: Squirrel on a Plane! I wonder if we could get Samuel L. Jackson to be in this one, too... 'course "I'm tired of this mother-fuckin' squirrel on a plane!" doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

If Sam passes on it -- and who could blame him? -- we'd probably have to settle for...hrm. Any single member of the cast of Lost would be hysterical (Jorge? Daniel?). Steve Carrel? ("I'm sorry, Champ, I think I ate your chocolate squirrel.") Djimon Hounsou? Ooh, that'd be fun. Adam Baldwin? Any of the cast of Firefly/Serenity, for that matter....

I heard conflicting rumours about the recasting of Katie Holmes. It appears to be either Rachel McAdamns or Maggie Gyllenhall!
