They've actually started shooting Phantom???

Yup, it's filming as we speak. The girl playing Christine (icon) is Emmy Rossum--she was in an indie movie called Songcatcher, and has an excellent voice, so they probably did a good job on that one. Gerard Butler is the Phantom--Movieweb also lists Patrick Wilson (I think he was in Angels in America? Joe?), Simon Callow, Ciaran Hind, Miranda Richardson, and Minnie Driver. There's only one picture so far, the one I used, but the Phantom is also in it. :) If I hear anything else, it'll get posted on dailydigest.

Hallelujah! Last I'd heard about it, they were contemplating Katie Holmes for Christine, and no offense to Ms. Holmes, but that's just...wrong.

Gawd, I hope they don't fuck that movie up like they did the other two. I mean, what's a better story than a couple, in which the man is slowly becoming evil, and his own twins are later going to vanquish him? I mean I explained that badly, but, you know?

Well, I think that's why I'm going in with no expectations except for costumes and Ewan. Darth Lucas will probably find a way to have a fifteen-minute chase of some pointlessness, Anakin's whining will increase exponentially from the first two movies, and I even hear that the one character I really liked from the second dies pretty early on. Bastages.
