I have not checked in for a while! Also I'm so used to Twitter that I totally forgot about comments here and I NEED TO CHECK THOSE OMG.

I saw a Star War and immediately fell in love with it even though I was never that much into either trilogy before and it ate my Tumblr for like two weeks because I was too lazy to check my dash for other things ( Read more... )

I am seriously debating if I would get $200 worth of enjoyment out of a Hot Toys Falcon figurine. I kind of feel like I would. I mean look at him.

Someday, SOMEDAY, I will get a Hot Toys figure. But I want to make it count. It's gotta be one I REALLY, REALLY WANT, since they're so expensive. (The Marvel ones have been really good, yeah.)

You know, I'm not entirely sure I've sat through the entire original trilogy beginning to end. Maybe with my sister one time? My mom had them on all the time when I was a kid, so they were just kind of background to me.

I also long for that Rey figure.

On the Anakin-never-used-Force-suggestion front maybe he just didn't want to. I mean we know it doesn't always work, the guy who had him and Mother as slaves was immune to it. But Force choking? Force choking works on everyone.

If you don't mind a bit of Star Wars nerdery, when you think about both techniques and symbolic of their sides. I mean what is Force-suggestion but a way end conflict non-violently? And what is Force-choking but a way to terrorize and intimidate your opponent.

And Anakin seemed to favor brute force over subtlety.

Rey gives me LIFE! As does the Emo Kylo Ren thing. I am enjoying that character like a million times more because of that meme. I heart the internet.

EDIT: And dude. Anakin totally used Force Suggestion. On Watto. When he comes back to Tattooine to find his mother, and first Watto's trying to talk about things, and then Anakin's just like, "Where. Is. My. Mother." And you *could* argue that he's getting extra-pissy at that point, but he also moves his hand just a little bit. So yeah--Force Suggestion. He's done it. More effectively than Qui-gon, I might add. That's my head-canon and I'm sticking to it.

Where is Rey? On eBay. There are figures of her in all the sizes, but unless you sit there on top the boxes while the store opens them, good luck. Hasbro ships the same number of each figure per case and Rey gets gobbled up and put on eBay for the most part. (I don't want one THAT badly. It's like trying to get some of the Lego sets.) Between the opening and Christmas my Meijer's had NOTHING left except that constable alien no one wants who got cut from the movie. Now you can find Finn again and some of Poe. (Poe Dameron body pillow, anyone?) I did get a First Order TIE Pilot this trip, at least.
