A friend of mine changed her name when she got married because it's a "free" name change, but she didn't take her husband's last name, she took the maiden name of a maternal grandmother that she admired. It confused some people, but I think it was a really cool approach. And, you could, you know, change your last name to Sharkkiller no matter who you married. :)

Heh, true. I kind of did an end run around the whole thing by just going with "Cleolinda Jones." I mean, I like my real name and it's (also) very much me, but in terms of changing your name--that's one way to do it, I guess.

I definitely needed it after two hours of reading an old Reddit thread about kids saying creepy things and people's various experiences with night terrors.

I actually enjoyed Reign. It was ridiculous, but it reminded me of Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette (except, you know, the CW version), with the mix of historical and modern-day names and clothing and music. Plus, one of the actors described it as "historical fan fiction" and "fantasy history," and how can you not love that? I have a feeling it's going to be very much Gossip Girl in period costumes, and I'm in... at least for the first season.
