Somewhat delayed from posting last night: a linkspam

Jun 20, 2013 13:29

I can already tell we're not going to have enough room in the finale recap for all the extraneous bits, so let's just go ahead and have a linkspam now. Also, if you would like to do a recap reread before the finale tomorrow night (I'm going to, but then, that's more of a "recapper continuity" thing for me), episode one, "Apéritif," is here, and you ( Read more... )

chez cleo, hannibal, tv, alcohol is in it, i am never making it up, dracula, om nom nom

@eruvadhril: "Who do you think you're talking to? There's nobody else here. This is an empty theatre."
This is the best thing ever.

Given that we know most of the cast are supposed to survive up until Red Dragon, tonight I am most worried for (a) Hannibal's office, (b) Winston, (c) the Ravenstag, and (d) Gillian Anderson *flings self in front of the Best Office Ever*

"Never say never"
Ah yes, that episode where Will tries to figure out if Hannibal's a cannibal by French kissing him. Science!

See, I'm kind of expecting a Judas kiss, if they ever do the scene with the linoleum knife. I mean, you want to distract a guy from the knife in your hand while being as melodramatic as possible...

I'm not worried about Winston, because Bryan Fuller swore he wouldn't hurt the dogs. After that, I am pretty much worried about everyone who is not the title character of the show.

See: Hannibal's entire life.

Good man. Still worried about the ravenstag. What will season 2 be like without stag hallucinations?

After that, I am pretty much worried about everyone who is not the title character of the show.
On an emotional level rather than an "actually dying" level, I want to wrap them all up in cotton wool and feed them hot cocoa. Even Hannibal. I know he doesn't deserve it, but Mads Mikkelsen's faaaace.

THANK YOU for all the great links in this post, by the way. Can never have too much Eddie Izzard in my life. (Why is there no COVERED IN BEEEES episode yet?)

Most welcome--I used to do general movie news linkspams all the time back in the day. It's my primary skill, really.

I know he doesn't deserve it, but Mads Mikkelsen's faaaace.

You do kind of want to be like, "Oh, sweetie, it doesn't have to be this way, people will like you for just being the non-murderous version of you!" And then he eats your face, so.

"(Longtimers, see if you can figure out at exactly which point in this unrelated bit that I started laughing hysterically.)"

Elven queen? Honestly, I'm laughing too hard at "THE MEEK, THEY WANT IT ALL" to think about anything else.

I'm going to guess "Galadriel?" as well. Somehow I'd not seen that Izzard bit previously. (Not that I seek them out necessarily, but, you know... Internet osmosis.)

Yeah, I actually went looking for clips after that last episode he was on--osmosis here, too. I'm trying to remember which entire show I found and watched on YouTube--a relatively recent one, it involved an ongoing jazz chicken gag that I really enjoyed.

Hee, yes. I'd never seen that one and just about fell over.

I was going to die laughing at the Dire Ravensnoopy, but I had already died laughing at Miss Freddie in your azaleas, so, you know. Difficult to do it twice.

Honestly, I never knew I could get so many giggles out of a show I wouldn't dream of watching in a million years. All hail, Queen of the Recappers and Linkspammers!

Hee, it's not just me, though. I see all kinds of people on other people's reblogs being like, "I don't even watch this show and I love the fandom stuff," or "I don't even know anything about it and I want someone to hug Will Graham." It probably helps that there's some general pop-culture knowledge of who the title character is, to make it accessible on at least some surface level. Like, you see the "Psychiatric Help 5¢" stand and you get the joke, even if you're like "wtf is a ravenstag."

That's me, too. I LOVE reading the recaps, and the links to the fashion blogs and the food stylist entries and the bits from the Twitter accounts. And the Freddie Lounds interview with Fuller? That was fantastic.

And I have no desire to watch the actual show.

I want to go and read the books now.

Heh, I enjoy a lot of fandom memes generally without having watched the shows, yeah. And I used to read Television Without Pity recaps for shows I had zero intent of ever watching (mostly reality shows and stuff on the WB) back when Heather and Jessica were still writing there.

I WILL LIVETWEET AS WELL IF THE FANNIBALS PREFER IT

I demand a livestream.

(Or them coming to FanExpo in Toronto. Because it's right around when they'll start up filming again. YOU GUYS WILL ALREADY BE THERE! COME ON, COME DOWN FOR THE MORNING!)

LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU DO THAT WHERE YOU ARE DOING IT BECAUSE I WANT TO KNOW EVERYTHING

Because "here's what we're generally going to do" is an acceptable level of spoilage for me, apparently. Also, I'm hoping the crowd will be huge and enthusiastic (but not creepy!), because I think it'll help the show for NBC to see that. I don't know, it would just really be awesome to see a show this good get some appreciation after their struggle to get anyone to fucking watch it.

I fully intend to take loads of pictures of the panel and the fans. Seriously, I want to take pictures of ANYONE cosplaying Hannibal there and meet-up with any Hannibal fans at the panel. I want a huge fannibal presence if at all possible.

I'll probably live-tumblr it since I'm more used to using their phone app and I can spoiler-tag things more easily.
