Bridesmaids is pretty funny. Basically, the character Megan steals the entire show. So hard. There are some good moments aside from her, but she is the best.

I saw a preview for Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close and I was overcome with disgust. I really hate overt emotional manipulation in movies (e.g. cheaply referencing major human disasters to get the audience to feel sad) and this is a movie that is entirely cheap emotional manipulation.

I feel the same way about Every. Single. Holocaust. Movie. (Except Schindler's List)

It's almost a, like, kind of pornography. Sadness porn. I felt the same way about The Passion of the Christ-- totally unsubtle and manipulative, like how the antagonists in a bad fanfic are sooooo meeeeeen to the Sue main character. There's no room for ambiguity, you must feel THIS WAY about THIS SCENE because the situation and the musical score has been set up in such a way that you can only have one response and ugh.
