mental health I have been diagnosed with: bipolar II disorder with hypomania, anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I saw a psychiatrist in high school and was on several medications, which only exacerbated my problems as this was before all the important studies that concluded you should never give anti-depressants to children and teenagers. Now, as an older twenty-something, I've adjusted much better to medication, and am seeing a psychiatrist.

hobbies & interests Reading, writing, video games, feminism, occult (astrology is something I know a lot about, and tarot is something I am learning).

Hello. It sounds like we have a lot in common with the video gaming and all that. I'm curious about the information that children and teens should not be put on anti depressants. I haven't heard of that before. I've had friends put on them from young ages and they have long-term side effects from it . It's interesting to think about. Add me back as long as you don't mind I post something like once or twice a month. I read every day though!

This study came out around 2004 or so, I think! From what I understand, now all anti-depressants carry warning labels about prescribing them to children and adolescents. It exacerbates mental disorder symptoms and also increases suicidal ideation and suicide attempts in younger people.
