While I am still waiting for the third and final score to be posted, I feel reasonably confident that I can announce here that as of this week, I will have completed all the course requirements for me to be awarded my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas.

For the most part, I've been away from regular posting due to my schedule of late. I am past the half way mark of the semester, and not doing all that poorly (I'm maintaining a mid-2-point something GPA); Statistics is the one class holding me back, but also the one that I really need to have, in my opinion ( Read more... )

I just finished my first day of class. Intro to Computers. Three credit hours.

Just got back last evening from a Labor Day Weekend Family Retreat held by our church, in which we had seven people (not counting ourselves) attend from our local group. We left for this camp event on Friday, after having returned to our home on Thursday from a return visit to Beaufort, where we performed a wedding vow renewal service for a couple ( Read more... )

Before I dive in to the reviews, just a further update on the recovery. I saw the surgeon yesterday, who removed the few bandages I had in place, looked around and pronounced himself satisfied with the progress. Today was my first foray into the outside world since my surgery. I had scheduled two events at the church with my wife before my surgery was scheduled. One was a fundraiser sale for a group of folks who are planning on attending The Salvation Army's Bible Conference in North Carolina (a 14-hour drive from here) later in August. So far, I feel as if I am somewhere close to being 60% recovered. Now that is my own estimate, and I am not a doctor, nor have I ever played one on TV. But in general, I feel good, there is very little pain (except when I cough), and I'm getting a mild case of cabin fever ( Read more... )

Yesterday morning, I went in for an umbilical hernia repair surgery. Outpatient. Am home now, a little sore, but otherwise feeling OK. Won't be able to lift anything for a week or so. Will be checking in occasionally, but I doubt I'll have anything much to say.

It is with a great deal of sadness that I look over my LJ postings and realize that it has been over a week since I last posted anything at all, much less of grave importance. Of course, this one is not of grave importance either.
