Love You, Mom

This post is intensely personal. Maybe I shouldn’t even share it. But as a writer it feels so wrong to not write about it.

Whether you're expecting death or not, it's always a shock. I don't think anyone can prepare you for exactly what it'll be like. The thing I learned was there were no rules in death. How you behave, what you say, how long you grieve...no two people are the same. The platitudes sound hollow. Some you may find ring true in time. Scripture helped me a lot. To each his own. I send you peace and comfort, Kai. Your memories, though painful now, will be a blessing some day and you'll share those with others and smile through your tears.

Best,
Margie Church

A lovely post, Kai. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. It will be painful and shocking for a long time - and you will miss her forever, of course. Love to you! xoxo

Thank you, Kimberley. I am so struck by the finality of it! I now understand the true sense of the word and I don't like it one bit. Thankfully I lived my relationship w/my mother so that I'd have no guilt, but it doesn't erase the missed opportunities, or fill that gaping hole. *Sigh* Thanks for the virtual love. It really does help.
