“I would like to know,” Zeus thundered in his heavy Greek accent. “Just what you thought you were doing?”

“It was Poseidon and that trident,” Athene grumbled. “I told him not to let that drunken oaf anywhere near it.”

“He stole it while I was sleeping,” Poseidon declared.

“And what do you have to say for yourself?” Zeus growled at the shamefaced god of wine and revelry, who had organised the party that had gone so very wrong.

Dionysus gazed at the newly formed, very first anomaly. He really shouldn’t have started a weapons-of-the-gods throwing contest. “It was an accident?”
