A comm pimp, and a question about Irene and Teresa!

Hi there! I thought it relevant to this comm, what with Claymore being a manga populated almost solely by female characters, to mention that halfamoon is running until Feb 14th! It exists to celebrate the female characters in fandom, so if you've got fic, art, icons, or anything like that, it'd be great if you shared them over there ( Read more... )

Let's see.. Teresa was still a little girl in the immediate aftermath of Luciela's awakening, since Raphaela met her shortly after she lost her eye. So, I would say that she's not ancient.

Irene has that air of an old lady around her. I would say that at the time of the execution order, she's been around for a long time, at least long enough to figure out how some things work, which I also get from Galatea.

Yeah, she does have that old-lady air, but otoh I suspect she probably had an old-lady air even as a kid, so I'm disinclined to trust that necessarily means she's old. Of course, if there is no canon on how old either of them were, I suppose I can make it up as it pleases me. (Personally I like the idea of Irene being the older woman being outshined by the upstart prodigy and being unsure how to feel about it. XD)

Well, the outshining part is in canon. *points at Priscilla*

I would say that Irene is a wise character. Unlike Rosemary, she doesn't care about ranking per say, and respects talent when she sees it (in Teresa and Priscilla). It's only her lapse in judgement which was regretful. But what a lapse it was.

I agree re: Irene and ranking. She'd be able to see that Teresa was the stronger one, and say Teresa was stronger and that's that. However, I think certain aspects about Teresa's personality would grate on her slightly, which might cause some friction if they had to work in a group, what with Teresa being her superior.
