Next Third of City of Bones

Okay, so apparently I bitch enough about this book that I need to cut its review into 3 pieces for fear of them getting too long. So here's my thoughts on the middle third of City of Bones. It's my running commentary to Lyndsey as I was reading, and I warn you, it's a touch on the long side, but hopefully entertaining enough ( Read more... )

I'd burn the book and bury the ash in several different places in case it comes back. *nods* So glad I never bothered to read it.

It's a library book, at least, so I don't have to keep it. :) But I do think the movie will end up being better, at least. What's killing me are the people I've seen saying this is better than Harry Potter. :P

The last third of the book has actually been pretty decent so far, at least. The one battle has been more interesting than the rest combined, and we're leading up to the final battle, so everything in general has been more interesting. Jace is being more tolerable, though Clary continues to be a useless, whiny bitch. :P It is kind of strange, though, that the main antagonist was just introduced and had absolutely no description aside from being tall.

And I'm pretty sure she just misused "bemused."

It all comes down to this XD

Also, I'm losing count of the number of times she loses this fucking rat.

I legit LOL'd at this.

"The apple tasted green." Yeah, it did.

And I lost it at this. Omg. ::dies;:

This sounds so very terrible... I'm trying to figure out what i might like about it... Still wanna see the movie though ^_^

Well, the first third of the book, while pretentious and whiny, is significantly less terrible than the middle. And the third part has also been less obnoxious. Less whiny and more of Alec, who is the one character that I like. Also, you may enjoy the lore more than me, and the rampant use of runes. And I've been known to be pickier than you in the past, so I don't want to assume you'll feel the same as me. And I continue to think the movie will be much better than the book.
