I don't think I've ever done any before and it's about time I get down to it. If there's a story that you'd like the nitty gritty on, let me know! I'd love to shed some insight on any fic of interest

Glad to see you're still up and kicking, if not ficcing (who is, these days?). But, the best part about this post is the typo: pubic art project. That brought a huge smile to my face. :)
Hey, girl. I'm sure I owe you a phonecall. When I get back to the city (and have reception again), we'll do some catch up. Things are busy, in general. I'm not really on LJ much. Feel pretty out of the loop, honestly. Work is sort of all consuming, so there's no time to read the flist or write anything. I'm pretty much on the fringes.
pubic art project. That brought a huge smile to my face. LOL. Thanks for catching that. It's fixed, if not less humorous. I wonder what form a pubic art project would take?
Hmm, for some reason these challenges usually don't interest me; I'm not one for wanting to pull the curtain back on the wizard. But there are some notable exceptions, your fics: "The Cross" and "Burn Marks" being at the very forefront. Commentaries on either or both would intrigue me very much!
Hm, interesting. They're both rather short, but I do recall they generated a lot of discussion in comments around Buffy's psychological state. I'll have a look at them both and see if I can shed some light on the process. Thanks!
I sorta liked this & sorta didn't. The like part is because it's so sensual and I love Spike's neediness - but the sorta not is because I keep thinkin' "Buffy, why be so selfish - it's not like YOU need the flow for anything...
Thanks so much for the feedback. I enjoy this piece myself because it's very grounded. The entire ficlet is anchored securely by the metaphor and keeps it tight. I characterized Spike here as being like a dog - needy and submissive with just a hint of danger. As for Buffy's motivation, it has less to do with the functional aspects of her period and more to do with control. Imagine someone demanding an intimate part of yourself, needling you constantly for something you didn't really want to give up. I think that's the mindset we find Buffy in here. By saying 'no,' she holds the cards, has the power. When she relinquishes that the co-dependence of their affair becomes very real for her. They meet needs in each other that are both essential, but destructive and it scares her because she doesn't know how far down that will drag her.

Thanks for alerting me Snowy. Very cool. As for participation in the future, we'll have to see if I start writing again. All that's come to a grinding halt. Too busy enjoying RL friends and being immersed in work.
BTW - I love you're catspit icon. Hilarious and too true!
