*cringe* Oh god. Thanks for pointing that out. Typo of doom.
As for the coat, it's such a part of him. I missed it so much in S7. I think I might also have screamed in a really ridiculous fashion when the bad-ass music started up and he retrieved it in "Get it Done." Spike needs his swagger, damnit!
Oh, that was particularly good haiku f/b. Very true. I alternated between the Slayer and Spike in each set, and also incorporated things he acquires as a result of their deaths. Hm, he's a bit like a serial killer, isn't he? Saving all sorts of mementos to flesh out his character.
Do you think Spike ever encountered a true villain/human killer? Like, Son of Sam? I wonder how he would view a person like that.
Great minds! I almost wrote another verse about how Spike was like a serial killer. :P
I think Spike would kill a serial killer with glee. Spike kills people for two reasons: to eat (in which case he simply kills) and to challenge someone of equal or greater strength. I think Spike would have no respect for someone who killed those who are weaker out of pleasure - he'd think them a pansy.
almost wrote another verse about how Spike was like a serial killer. He did have that whole William the Bloody railroad spike schtick going on early on. That's very serial-killerish with the signature MO. Good thing he kicked that to the curd. Had to learn the demon way of going about killing!
he'd think them a pansy Or a 'cheap, whorish, fashion victim' with a 'skanky, lopsided ass.' :D
Woohoo! These kick ass, sweetie. And the first one gave me chills. I really like the way that your focus on what he takes from (or is given) in each battle ties the two groups together. Good on yer!
Thanks. I had a lot of fun writing them. There was much syllable counting on my fingers as I was drafting these.
It's kind of weird how he carries his victories around with him constantly, between the scar in his eyebrow and Nikki's coat. It's like he swaths himself in the lore he created for himself. Hm, insecure much, Spike?

Definitely a sleek trophy piece and something he was so terribly proud of. Very nice.

from the Slayer to the slain,
you capture quite well.
Spike becomes himself
by taking bits and pieces
of those he has killed.
