I hoped you'd pick Fred. And I am glad you gave her a bit of fun and happiness. She was full of life and seems to have encouraged Gunn in mutual satisfaction.
Fred, to me, was a scientist, a seeker of truths, an intellectual who allowed spots for love and gentleness.
Gunn fits well with her at this time.

Hee! Well, I'm glad I didn't disappoint. This story was so much fun to write. I was smiling the whole way through. Fred is such a sweet character and has such a tragic end that I had to give her a happy romp in the sack.
Gunn really matches her here because he loves her for her intellect and supports her in her pursuits. I thought it would be funny if she were the one on the other end of the miscroscope, so to speak. A kinky twist on her own nerdy interests.
Love your use of the glass prompt. Very entertaining.

Not at all! Because it is. In the past I've gnashed my teeth over writing cute and fluffy stories because they were never on my own terms. The two that come to mind were bday stories for other people. But this was felt good because it fit my vision exactly.
And I'm thrilled you liked Fred. She was so sweet and likeable in canon, I wanted to capture that here. I am definately a Fred/Wes fan, but looking back the series she had a really good thing going with Gunn, too. I didn't want to him short shrift him for treating her right.
You write this pair *very* well and should do so again.

I wanted this scene to feel very natural and light-hearted, the way I like my sex in RL to be (as opposed to angsty, miserableness, woo!). The geek references were fun, too. I've watched the Star Trek series and I actually looked up a famous physicist's name to use as the author of her book on string theory. Always a joy to work in little details like that!
