Ah, glad my rec wasn't wasted. This was the first fanfic story I wrote, and it still holds a special place in my heart. Blood is such a powerful thing, and I tried pushing it to the max here.

Buffy is a fascinating and multi-layered character, and utterly, heart-breakingly tragic. Such terrible things have happened her to harden her into what she became in s6. I like working through why she's become like that, how the pain has shaped her, hurt her, and ways she might be able to face herself. Spike usually helps, too =) Most of my fics tap very deep into a characters head and tease through all the crap that makes them tick. It's my fav, maybe aside from major angst and porn.

Spuffy was my first love. I've been taking a break from them recently, but I hope the passion and inspiration for those two come back soon. There are so many more stories to tell.

Yes, this was the fic that inaugurated my time as a writer into the BtVS fandom. It had been bouncing around in my head for some time and it just poured out at once. I still like it a lot, though I would never characterize Spike and Buffy the way I do here anymore. They're so damn sentimental and sweet compared to my more recent stuff.

The symbolism in this one is something I would like to be able to grasp again. Pour Buffy, indeed. Spike was really what the doctor ordered in this case. I think this story is my wish-fulfillment Spike. Wouldn't mind a man like that myself, mm-mm.

If you're curious, the continuation to this fic is called "Show Me How." It picks up two weeks after this one leaves off and Buffy works through some more angst via fisting. Hello!
