Oh, this is very nice. Great characterizations of both of them, and a wonderful little bonding moment.

Wow. This is... Eep. Just perfect. (and what a wonderful way to end a crappy day! *bounces*)

I love reading about guys bonding--they're some of my favorite stories of all time--AND I love missing moments, and this is both at the same time! *big grin*

I could really sense Harry's trepidation--of course he'd be nervous when he went to tell Neville. And of course he'd feel like he'd have to tell Neville in the first place.

This had a great blend of humor and seriousness, and I went back and forth with the two of them between laughing and really almost crying. *snuggles Neville tight*

Also I'm totally laughing, because I'm working on a fic, and in it (in a passing mention, but it's still there), Neville has to deal with a cross between...a Venemous Tentacula and Devil's Snare. Obviously, the two of us have great minds! Hee.

“Not everything went wrong, Harry. And in the end everything turned out exactly right.”Beautiful line, and a beautiful ending ( ... )

ALSO! I'm totally geeking out about Neville running an experiment in the dark! It's so true--any little bit of light at the wrong time can ruin literally months of work.

And I &hearts the bit about Harry explaining about the Sword of Grffindor: “It’s because the sword responds to loyalty, and need, and in that moment your need was great and your loyalty to what you believed was unshakeable...".

*flails some more*

I just ran with the canon fact that the Devil's Snare prefers the dark and damp. Believe me, as a history geek I'm not exactly famous for in-depth knowledge of plant biology.

But. . . .

I figured out quite a while ago that a part of your love of Neville is because of his love for Herbology, so I had to give a nod to your profession. :D

Well, I was hoping you'd like it OK, but I never expected this sort of reaction!

Those two just seemed "logical" for a magical hybrid. And I had to include the part about the VT mouths not having teeth because one of my favourite drive-by LOL lines in the entire series is in Book 1 when Prof Sprout says something about how the VT is teething. *snerk*

This was brilliant. I love Neville. The only change I would have made would be to have harry accio Neville's wand out of the greenhouse.

I thought about it but figured that Neville would be right back in there hard at work on his project the next morning. Plus I wanted to use Harry magically cleaning Neville's cuts and gashes to re-emphasize what Neville had gone through by having Harry's attention be drawn to the bruises still visible on Neville's face.
