OOM: Pendulum?

They got Mr. Ives some water, after they busted him out of the wall; since they were all there, he filled them in on who this Bobby person was and where he liked to hang out. Pete and Claudia are on their way to check that out, which - apparently - includes a shortcut across the quad. (Her high school wasn't this awesome.)

"Okay, so Ives said that Bobby has a crush on - what was her name?"

"Tamara," Claudia says.

"Tamara, right. There's always a girl."

"Don't blame her, blame testosterone! Crazy, crazy man-hormone." As they walk inside, Claudia starts looking around for the culprit.

"I'm not blaming the girl," Pete says, "I'm blaming Poe. Bobby?"

"...Crazy scary man-hormone," Claudia amends, when she spots the guy in question; he's on a balcony at the top of the stairs, a girl in a toga-thing that she's guessing isn't in the uniform code standing next to him.

"Check out Miss Teenage Zombie," Pete says; Claudia glares at him for his trouble. "...right." He clears his throat and says, "Bobby? and..." He looks back at Claudia, 'pls help' written all over his face.

"Tamara," she whispers, taking a guess that Bobby got to his crush object before they did.

"Tamara, was it? Right?" Pete clears his throat again. "That's a nice pen, Bobby. Why don't you give it up?" He holds up one of the goo-infused bags. "Come on, give it here."

Instead of responding out loud, Bobby raises the hand with the pen, and points at something on the floor. Claudia has a closer look than Pete does; turns out it's another note.

"'Pendulum'?"

And, yeah, she really shouldn't have done that. Cue giant sharp pendulum swinging through the hallway; Pete knocks her to the floor (not ideal but at least they're not impaled on the thing) and says, "You gotta be kidding me!"

So naturally, it gets worse; straps come out of nowhere and fasten them to the floor. Awesome.

"BOBBY!" Pete yells, as the dude and his corpse bride practically promenade down the stairs and around them (they're not in any danger from the pendulum o' doom, of course).

pete, canon time is now
