It's not until Claudia's ushered him through the door that Artie realizes where he is. It's packed up, and covered with dust, and the only light is what filters in through the grime-smeared windows, but...

"I know this place," murmurs Artie. "It's the lab--it's Joshua's old lab."

This is why she didn't take the zappy cuffs off yet, even though it might've cut down on the fuss about her driving. She knew she'd never get them back on, and for now... well, the threat of pointing the remote at him will hopefully do the trick.
