Did you know that you can import a work from LJ (and presumably other places) as a draft into Ao3 and then download it as an ebook without publishing it?

I only wish I'd known this when I ended up reading a few 300k+ word fics on some old archive sites and on LJ.

Does that work for multi-chapter works on ff.net?! That would be amazing. "View entire work" is one of my favorite AO3 functions.

I don't know if the ffnet import is working on Ao3 anymore- I think they lost that functionality when ffnet did that update a while back, but never fear, there is a site that works just for ffnet. Which is...um...http://www.flagfic.com/ (which is currently down.) I can NEVER remember the site's name, I always end up going to an ebook I downloaded via it and finding the info through the title page, hah.

Yes! That will make reading longer fic on ff.net much easier. I guessed that there must be something like that, but didn't care enough to do research because I don't read much on ff.net anyway (it's so much harder to find stuff! Tags are amazing things.)

I would probably switch to ffnet for searching for MCU fic if the ratios of good to bad were not still so much in the favor of Ao3. (though I do remember finding some great spn fic on there back in the day), just at least because the tagging on ff.net does not allow for the mess that the MCU is on Ao3. (Like, if I want an iron man fic, with Tony and Pepper in it, I will darn well find a lot of terrible iron man fics on ffnet, as opposed to a lot of terrible fics in which Pepper briefly shows up to fall down an elevator shaft and Tony and Loki work together to fix up Clint/Coulson)
