Ooh, I love this one. Linx is got to be my favourite Sontaran.
Anytime Sarah Jane and Three come in close proximity of each other, the snark levels soar and I think I love it. I love the Three/Sarah snark, particularly at this point when they didn't trust each other.
A guy who I could swear was Robin Hood tries to assassinate the captain but is interrupted by Sarah Jane asking for a phone. This show. That's actually Boba Fett. Well, the actor who played Boba in the original Star Wars trilogy, anyway.
"My dear girl, I don't go around kidnapping scientists!" A man from Coal Hill School named Ian Chesterton begs to differ. I'm now picturing Three looking all huffy and saying "He was a science teacher. There's a difference." XD
I'm not kidding, no. Hal was played by Jeremy Bulloch, who would later on play Boba Fett (and Q's assistant in a few James Bond films). Back in the Hartnell days, he had also played one of the Xerons in The Space Museum.
Jon Pertwee, how have I forgotten how magnificent your face is?Oh, so very true. I've always loved that face, though some of the expressions he pulled were, um, scary
( ... )
I think my sexism remark came mainly from his comment about "that's quite an admission, coming from the fairer of your sex" and his thing in the first episode about "we'll need someone to make us coffee." Beyond that there wasn't really anything terrible, but I was still a tad taken aback.
I actually haven't seen any Pertwee-hate for the reasons you're specifying (although I hear it was quite prevalent in the 90's fandom), but I have heard a few fans say they don't like him because they think his era is boring. Actually, there's a recent episode of the TARDIS Tavern podcast where they have a Pertwee Intervention to try and get one of the co-hosts to like Three by making him watch Inferno. But I certainly appreciate both him and Seven.
Yes, I remember him needling Sarah Jane, but I took it for needling, getting at her, because she was being a bit obnoxious and he was being snotty and mischievous.
Boring... that's funny, because I was somewhere around 17 when I first watched his Doctor and wasn't bored at all, except for "Colony in Space," which I don't think either Pertwee or Delgado could rescue. (I desperately need to rewatch his stories as a proper adult, but have no time or opportunity.) I also found him sexy as hell (and still do, all these years later), but let's not go into that, especially since one is magically not supposed to be attractive past the age of 40 in Western society, and I wrongly don't think 50-55 (his age when he was the Doctor) is that old... gaaaaah. ...Aaaanyway... my bias is showing. *grin*
"Will you excuse me? I've got to go and find a young girl..." "Young girl? Should've thought he was a bit old for that sort of thing."
Everytime I rewatch this (which is, uh, a lot, being the premier of both favourite companion and favourite alien) I can't stop myself from adding at that one: "He means a specific one, he didn't just wake up this morning with a craving!"

And yes, Three would point out "a difference."
