Weekend before this last one, I went to San Antonio to see Rhea off at the airport as she embarked for an undetermined time in Florence.  I don't really know when she'll be back.  She's going for an internship program, but if she ends up getting a real job there, she'll stay for who knows how long.  I'm really excited for her.  She got the idea ( Read more... )

How large is 'large'? I'll have to think about it ... see if anything comes up from the recesses of my memory. :)

I'd like to chat with you when you get a chance ... I want to ask you about the musical theatre program at Texas State, what you think of it, etc. I'm considering pursuing a BFA and would probably do it in Texas because it's cheaper and my credits would transfer more easily.

And CONGRATS!! :)

Thank you, sweetie! I'm really proud of you for going after your dreams . . . it's never too late!

Ummm . . . the BFA in Musical Theatre. Basically, you would audition for the BFA Acting Program, and in addition to that take the necessary Music courses, but as far as I know they don't include Dance! Crazy fucks. But catch me on AIM sometime and I'll answer any questions you have.

Closer the play kicks Closer the movie's ass in so many ways, and the movie has the benefit of both Natalie and Jude. I'm kinda kicking the idea of directing at least parts of it myself next summer.

As for plays with lots o' women, there's one called Chamber Music that's a tragicomedy that's fairly good, or House of Bernarda Alba (which I believe has one man). I'll keep thinking, I'm sure there are others.

Hot.

Too bad they're doing 'Chamber Music' as a student production here this year. And I already mentioned it to Dick Sodders, but he said it didn't have enough women.

Is 'House of Bernarda Alba' a Lorca play?

Wendy Wasserstein, Uncommon Women and Others. Excellent play and a lot closer to contemporary experience than The Women.
