" When I made my way to college, I was truly astonished to find teachers who appeared to derive their primary pleasure in the classroom by exercising their authoritarian power over my fellow students, crushing our spirits, and dehumanizing our minds and bodies." bell hooks (Teaching Critical Thinking, p2)

HAPPIEST DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Well, when we grew up and went to school,
There were certain teachers,
Who would hurt the children in any way they could,
By pouring their derision,
Upon anything we did,
Exposing every weakness,
However carefully hidden by the kids.

But in the town it was well known,
When they got home at night,
Their fat and psychopathic wives would thrash them,
Within inches of their lives.

Yeah, I had more than a few of those! They seem to personify the old, "those who can, do" saying.

Nice "The Wall" quote there blg. One of my favorite musical compositions everrrr. (the whole thing, not just that part!)

I just listened to the first 8/17ths of a biography of Einstein. He said basically the same thing.
