This was lovely. I'm bothered by the lack of closure on this matter too, and this helps that little bit more <3

Personally, having gone through the experience of giving birth and holding my own daughter in my arms, I don't know how Amy survived all of that. I know the show couldn't really go there, too dark - and maybe if I were a kid watching it wouldn't bother me. There's a fairy tale quality to the whole River Song arc - including her abduction and upbringing. Still, there's always fanfic for the rest of us who do need closure.
