nervewracking and kind of disappointing, but i am dropping my lit class. just too much...work and stress and 'freedom'. while I always have thoughts on things - SO MANY - I'm not really good with the whole 'write whatever you want on the topic'. I need more structure than that when i'm getting graded

it sounds like you made the right decision, you shouldn't feel so stressed by a class.
French is a beautiful but complicated language, I took French for many years, but never quite got the hang of it and by now I've forgotten as good as everything.

I took French in high school and still remember some of it, but I never got as good at it as Spanish, which was why I decided to take it in college. It's going relatively well I think, even though my brain is still going "oh a foreign language? must be Spanish, obviously" and making me think the wrong words sometimes...

:) well it seems you have a thing for languages so I'm pretty sure French will work for you just as fine as Spanish rather sooner than later. I like it that you didn't take the easier road by picking the language you were better at.
