Operation: Get In Early is off to a flying start. This morning, the alarm went off at 6.45 am. I only pressed snooze once. I didn't manage to get out of the house before 7.30 am, but I did get to work at 8.30 am. I even managed to not fume at the morons who somehow obtained a license. Isn't it awesome fun! It was even dark-ish (although, I admit, I did wake up ten minutes later than you).

Although, to be competitive, will you be home by 4.30? =P

No, I'll be accumulating my flex-time so I can take days off. So :P right back at you.

When I was driving to work this morning, the sun was rising. Everything was dappled in that sort of washed-out morning light. It was quite nice, really.

Aww, flex time. Is that like holidays, except that you have to work for them instead of getting a quarter of the year off?

Yep. Except that a) it's more flexible than normal leave; and b) you accumulate it by working more than the required 7.5 hours a day. How long's your average workday? And if you tell me that you get home everyday at 4.30, I will call bullshit.

Actually, to be honest, the magnitude of suckage in our respective jobs is probably equal. They just suck in different ways.
