Oh yes! That entire hat is cardboard...in fact, all the hats I've made for lolita/cosplay have been made out of cereal boxes or papier mache. 8D;;;

Waah! I think last year was my YEAR of the pleated skirt, I've got them in at least 6 colours now (and somehow I always need another). I've no experience with starch, but what I use is a rajah pressing cloth (I got mine from Lincraft) and you basically just spray a bit of water from the iron onto the fabric that you're pressing and the cloth, place the cloth on the pleat and steam both of them with the iron to dry them and you're done! The pleats will stay forever. =3 You've just got to be careful not to burn the fabric, is all.

Lovely to hear (lol pun?) you're getting into Vocaloid! I love it because it's just got such a unique fanbase. Everything is made and created by fans, which is just amazing...in my opinion, anyway. XD;
