Hope that helps... okay, go to 'Help & Support' and click on 'LiveJournal FAQ'. Then scroll down until you come to 'Journal Entries' and click on one of the links under that. It'll tell you how to do the lj-cut (which extends your entry) and also how to link friends so that the little icon comes up. ;)
