Amazing? Maybe. Stoopid? Definitely. Like spending hours huddled under a sink, which is how I spent the last two days removing and installing a bathroom faucet. But think of the money I saved not hiring a plumber!!!

The cookout was rather pleasant especially with the addition of margaritas!

hooray for garden picspam! i love your lamp post garden, and the riotous annuals, and really all the pics. if it makes you feel any better, it seems like oftentimes the area right under a large tree seems not to be a good spot for plants - think about how often in a park, for instance, the area right under the trees is dirt and twigs instead of nice, lush grass. (yes, i was pouting as i typed that. ;D)

I had never put two and two together with trees and bare spots until you mentioned that. I always thought it to be people sitting under the trees screwing up the grass.

The lamp post garden is under a tree that has grass butting against the trunk, along with some weeds, so I think it's the roots in my problem bed. But dixiebell12 had a good idea to add yards of soil to the area.
