My recent reads:

You Caught Me Kissing by Dorothy Bridges -- I love movies. My love for movies is definitely on par with my love of books. One does not trump the other. I know to stay away from Dorothy Bridges' book. :-) I've never read anything by Laura Zigman, but I can empathize when a book starts out so well and then dwindles off.

I just finished Maurice by E.M. Forster. The dialogue is very period, but I enjoyed it. I'm also reading (simultaneously) Me of Little Faith by Lewis Black, and poems by Rumi. The Rumi poems are beautiful. I'm reading them slowly. Black's book misses the mark, or maybe it's that I miss his angry delivery.

I haven't read Maurice, but it is on my list! I think it was made into a movie with Hugh Grant? I usually watch the movie first because I think it is easier to follow the novel's plot afterward. (This really helped when I tackled The Lord of the Rings, for example.) Plus, many people are often disappointed with film adaptations because scenes are often left out. But if I read the book afterward, I'm like -- "Ooooh, deleted scenes!" :-)

I miss you! And our talk of books and all things under the sun...

xoxo.
