Seriously? Well, the problem is that our country's policy about changing a name isn't so eager to please. To change your name it's usually just the spelling (e.g. Marc - Mark)... and they won't let you touch your last name. (unless, obviously, there was a big mistake and they switched surnames or something). The law system believes that your birth certificate (which is what you'd have to change when you change your name) is a public document showing a historical fact and correcting it would mean that something was not correct at the time of drawing up your Act of Birth
